Default Jo Brand's Cats and Kittens

Is on Channel 5 tonight (Tuesday) http://www.channel5.com/show/jo-brands-cats-kittens/ I have to say that I've always been allergic to Jo Brand and can't even force myself to watch my favourite programme Have I Got News For You? when she's in the chair (which is far too often) so I will probably be giving it a miss but I thought I would mention it.

I doubt if Russ will sit through it, so I will record and watch over the weekend, alongside Grey's Anatomy, which is my other guilty pleasure

I did watch it, and luckily the cute kitten count outweighed the presence of Jo Brand, although IMO it would have been even better without her.

Ooh will try and remember to set that one to record! I'm not a huge fan of Jo Brand either but she doesn't bother me too much. I just wouldn't have pegged her for a cat programme?!

It's all a bit twee, despite some graphic scenes of surgery. Last night featured a kitten with a missing tail, but they didn't seem to question why he had a missing tail and the damage to the stump looked so clean that it must have been cut off, either in some kind of accident or by some person. it also looked as if someone had burnt the kittens whiskers too but they didn't mention that - which is a surprise as the programme is supposed to be showing the work of the RSPCA.

You just made my mind up for me by mentioning the RSPCA - I've been hesitating to watch this programme, not because I dislike Jo Brand, but because having read a review or two which seemed to feature the saintly rescue of sick/ill/injured cats and kittens, I feared it would be designed to be both virtue signalling and simultaneously upsetting.

It comes as no surprise that that self-aggrandising, self-enriching bunch of tossers are behind it - they have to get money from somewhere to pay their Chief Executive 150,000 per annum! :

I'm not a Jo Brand fan in the comedy sense but she's teamed up with Paul O'Grady to fight for longer animal cruelty sentances. I loathe the RSPCA for a number of reasons however and don't for one moment believe their primary purpose is the care of the animals.

I wouldn't give the RSPCA the fleas off a dead dog's dick to look after. No time at all for them.

Really the series is more like watching the PDSA at work with a bit of cat rescue added. The veterinary work worried me a bit too as one of the vets was looking at the x-ray of the cat without a tail and thought his spine was fractured but decided to "give him a chance" - after we'd seen film of the cat walking with quite normally functioning back legs!

I'm still surprised no one seemed to question how the injury had happened and why the kitten had just stumps for whiskers. I want the RSPCA to do what it's supposed to do - protect animals from cruelty.

I saw that too, absolutely appalled that nothing was done to find out what happened to that poor boy!! I did like seeing him in his new home though a few months later, he looked like a totally different cat!!
