Anyone watch it ? - I thought it was brilliant. David Tennant makes a really good Doctor and I was really taken with the idea that way into the future New York will be lived in by an advanced form of cats dressed like nuns and running hospitals ....

Carole

If you didn't see it I haven't lost my mind - it just sounds like it

I know - I thought the whole idea of the "evolved cat" in Red Dwarf was wonderful!

I miss Chris :(

Missed half of the episode dealing with board stuff, but thought the first bit was okay and caught Dr Who Confidential afterwards.....:)

The new Doc is okay, but out of Chris' league!!

I'm too old for either of them :(

I always thought Chris Eccleston seemed to feel he was demeaning his status as an ACTOR by doing Dr Who. David Tennant looks as if he's having a real hoot and enjoying it all.

The best ever Dr Who was Jon Pertwee :)

I was very dissapointed with Chris when he left.. I agree I think it was because he thought it would damage him.. fool!!

I think the new one is okay.. I think it will take a while to get used to him... Warren has the figures!! David Tennant's looks just like him too!! \\:D/

I'm with you anna...was very disappointed when CE left...if he felt it would limit him, why on earth did he accept the role in the 1st place...he must have known the cult status that would follow....new doctor wasn't too bad though...takes some getting used to the change...:-k

Tom Baker's Doctor always seemed half an inch from madness - mind you Tom Baker himself seems even closer!

I quite like the first one I remember - Patrick Troughton

I'm guessing Syvester McCoy will be everyone's least favourite.

Carole

Jon Pertwee's son Sean grows more and more like him as he grows older - so they could always have him ....

I like the modern Dr Who, but going back to the old series Tom Baker is definitely my favourite.
I can sort of see the appeal for Georgina.....:-k
David Tennant is definitely the sexiest one so far though in my opinion! :love8:

I was ok with Peter Davidson but he followed T Baker so he was never going to be quite as good .... I remember the episode where they changed ffrom Tom to Peter ... bit like ppl remembering where they were when Kennedy was shot!!!

Jon Pertwee died in 1996, so he definately won't be making a comeback!

Thinking about this - TOM BAKER first, then JON PERTWEE - Thoughton scared me, mind you that was at age ten....PETER DAVISON was fine too.....and havent the sets improved from the old days when they were black and white tv and made from balsa wood and cardboard cutouts? ( showing my age, sorry!)

Well i def like this new one, hes great!!

Am I the only one that can remember William Hartnell?? I remember watching the first ever episode from behind the sofa at my grandmothers house on a Saturday evening, absolutely petrified!! :D

Carole
03-05-2006, 04:34 PM
William Hartnell (I can just about remember him) looked rather like my grandfather with longer hair

I thought Saturday's episode with Sarah Jane (she's worn remarkably well) and K9 was a wonderful nostalgia trip for all the older viewers - hardly a dry eye on the sofa here at the end :D
