Well - he did pretty good. He got EX-1, Nom and also his Judges prize for Best Kitten. Unfortunately he got pipped at the post for BIS 6-10 month as it was a split vote and the other kitten got it :-( never mind always next time! It was very very hot in the hall and I was so proud of Alfie as he was brilliantly behaved all day.
Anyway here are a few pics:
Charming his judge Eiwor Anderson

Although I have 3 Maine Coons, I only show Alfie, and I'm pretty much a newbie at all this. I've only done 4 shows (1 TICA, 1 GCCF and 2 FB), and Alfie is only 9 months old. I got into it mainly because I love cats and also because I decided I needed a hobby. I went to four or five shows to try and see how it all worked, then I began to contact breeders with a view to them keeping me in mind for a 'show' quality kitten. Originally I wanted a little tortie girl, as I'm outnumbered by boys in my house, but it wasn't to be! Little Alfie was born in Cornwall, and the rest, as they say, is history! I've had some very good advice from people and so far have enjoyed myself doing it. I count myself lucky as Alfie is very tolerant and laid back and quite likes the attention he gets at shows. If I thought he hated it I wouldn't take him. You do see cats at shows that seem like they hate the whole process. All in all its been a good start and I've met some lovely, like-minded, cat-mat people like myself!
