View Full Version : Red nose goes up Kilimanjaro
Anyone watch the trek? The footage from Uganda and other countries was so terribly moving.... the big push for fund raising this yr was mosquito nets.
So many many babies dying of malaria, one every 30 seconds :( for want of a £5.00 mosquito net.
Gary and his mates hoped to raise 1 million last night to buy nets for the populace in Africa.
if you txt 'yes' to 66609, comic relief will deduct £5.00 automatically and some baby somewhere will have a mosquito net to protect it soon.
Very well done The Kilimanjaro 9!

I watched it as I listen to the Radio One Breakfast show most mornings and knew Chris Moyles was doing it, I was so moved whilst watching it I donated £25 via the website.
The story they watched when they were getting ready for the trek where the little baby didn't make it had me in tears.
I think they have raised nearly £1.5 million so far from the trek alone and I take my hat off to them all for what they did and went through.

We watched it last night. Lee didn't want to watch it though and when he saw the awful plight of these children he was moved to tears, as was I. We both donated at the end of the show.
Hats off the the 9 who did the climb and the porters who made it look so easy

I watched it too, it was amazing and so moving, the background stories had me in tears.
I have to say I am not really a fan of Chris Moyles....but....he was amazing, he kept his spirits up throughout the trek, and that raised the spirits of his colleagues too.
Got to give it to Fearne Cotton as well, what a trooper.
Well done all, it said on the news this morning that not only have they already raised £1 million, Gordon Brown has pledged £2 million on top to aid malaria care
