ahh gasp! ... but he's going to marry me! i'm giong to be the 9th Henry tudor wife Carole! :)
By that time he'll be wearing so much padding and makeup by then that you won't be able to get near him
Unless of course wives number 7&8 put him on a crash diet and intensive exercise regime and find the secret of eternal youth ..... come to think of it - it's quite possible!
tee hee.. it'll turn into a search for the holy grail :) the da vinci tudor code
.. ahh i love it though.. in a way even though it's factual elements are probably very americanised and way off centre it's got me really interested in the period and since, i have watched the other boleyn girl, and i'm going to order some more books on the period, so it's definately sparked an interest for me.. not sure whether that's a good thing or not :)

I love this particular period.. there are some fab' writers too!
But my main enjoyment comes from watching the man himself! I doubt my interest will hold when it gets further on and he becomes less attractive
ohhh he's just totally devine .........

It's all a load of baloney anyway so there's not much to catch up on. Well there's some real historical truth hidden away in there somewhere among a load of tosh about the Toodoors - and anyway, HE does absolutely zero for me
I know it's like Bonekickers, just entertainment, but I'm currently spending long hours agonizing over an essay I'm writing about a girl called Betsy White who lived from 1755-1785 and I am tying myself into knots trying to be absolutely historically accurate about her, stick to the known facts and not guess about the bits of her life I know nothing about.
I'm just highly allergic to historical inaccuracy at the moment!

Me too, there can't be any surer way to muddy our heritage than this kind of fatuous dumbing down of historical canon - and 'Henry' is neither red-headed nor handsome.

To be fair it's not so bad if you're tanked up with a glass or two of plonk - and you do have to remember it's an American production, which I did when we wandered off to a scene set somewhere in "The Bishopric of Rochester" (we who live in it, call it little else)
I'm also quite happy with Jeremy Northam (because I like him) as the sainted Thomas Moore, if only he'd take that bl**dy chain off because he never did wear it in real life.

i enjoy the show and take it as what it is, entertainment. I know a lot of people (i'm not just talking about hubblers) get agitated that history is distorted but it is only a tv show. *runs for cover* :bleh:

I'm more worried about her acting ability .... but I don't suppose it matters much and I'm really looking forwards to seeing Madonna as Princess Elizabeth

Oh, don't worry - they'll just change that and pretend that nobody ever christened her 'The Flanders Mare'!
Someone on the BBC forums has renamed the programme 'Carry On Henry' - they must mean without the laughs, presumably! :D

Even I enjoyed it - but it is total rubbish!
LOTS of bloopers on You Tube - BTW. The language is a bit strong
I didn't know Jeremy Northam was so funny.

Yesterday was great - those Tudor bodices with just a couple of bows holding everything together at the back were brilliant. And how clever to see a copy of the Venus de Milo, which wasn't dug up until 1820.
Get the old violins out and strike up the synthesizers ... lets dance!
It's daft, but entertaining
