Looks interesting. White girl, aged 34, with some emotional childhood baggage goes to live with a tribe (the Kuna Indians off the coast of Panama), and is looked after by the tribes matriach.

It was fab, thank you so much for letting me know it was on! What a brilliant tribe, they were so welcoming and caring, really lovely people. I hope she goes back to visit them one day, i think they've really helped her.

Glad you enjoyed it Jeni - this is a series, with a different tribe each week and women's roles in the various tribes being explored as a Western woman goes to live with them for a month and adopt and learn about their cultural practices.

It's amazing and so eyeopening to see how other people live around the world, esp when we think of ourselves in our luxury houses, with cars, Tescos and the internet.

I would be absolutely NO GOOD as a wife of a tribesman.

Go and fetch water from wells 20-30 miles away:bignono:

Grow and make your own food, over a campfire:bignono:

Dancing and singing late into the night, when your knackered from walking the 20-30 miles to and from the well to get the water:bignono:

Hot and humid weather EVERYDAY:bignono:

Slaughtering your livestock to cook it and the having to EAT it:bignono:

We really dont know how lucky we are do we.And can you imagine walking back smug with a barrel of water on your head, only to trip and fall at the last hurdle, with the village in sight...and being told to go get more.

I'd be heading for the nearest airstrip runway, never mind the water.

By the way,I didn't watch the programme....:iconbigg:

Lol Yvonne!!

Yes, that spit alcohol looked disgusting!! :catsick:

It's just when the old woman started singing to her that she thought of her as another daughter and would be sad when she left, that was really touching, although the girl didn't know where to look!!
