Obviously written and produced by a man, wot with all the extremely pert boobies and female nudity. They all looked so perfect, in those days they never used to wash did they?
I thought it was a bit complicated, so I think I'll watch the repeat too, to see if I can understand the plot this time!

Who was the bloke who went with the daughter (the one who got hit by her father) was he the king or someone else?

and Who was that father and what was his story? I know he's important, but why was he then seen waiting on the Cardinal and tipping water on his shoes, if he was so integral to the plot?

It came on at 9 o'clock on BBC2,but because I wanted to watch it in bed I had to wait until 10 0'clock as it was being shown on BBC2 Wales...When I switched it on at 10 it was just about nearlly finished....So now I will have to watch the repeat tonight at 11:30 I think...The man who's daughter was 'enjoying' herself with a young suiter was Buckingham...

that was the Duke of Buckingham, a man who felt his claim to the throne was stronger than Henry's... he was trying to rally support to try and overthrow the king, but will end up losing his head or being hung drawn & quartered for treason, as will those that conive with him

It is hard to tell from one episode as not much was written about Henry's early years on the throne, but if he skips straight to Anne Boleyn and bypasses Mary Boleyn then it will be inaccurate as Henry was after Mary first..

I turned it off after 5 mins. Rebus was much better.

Did'nt it end with Both of the Boleyn sisters drinking a toast with their father after the Duke of Buckingham started to plot his overthrow?

Yep, she did .... wonder how they "take care of " her husband!

Yes, it did end with both the Boleyn sisters drinking a toast, Henry has both of them doesn't he?, their father looks like he may get in with Buckingham.

Doesn't he get a divorce from Catherine or does he chop her head off? I know he chops Anne's head off later

and who was the honey with Buckinghams daughter, was it Henry or his friend who didn't like to come to court?

I lost count on the combined nipple front after about 1/2 hour and watched Not Going Out instead

Also I couldn't quite get my my head round Henry VIII being dark haired - and as he was the most loathsome king ever, just couldn't be bothered to continue watching.

It seems hair products in the C16th were much more advanced than I would have though they were

Katherine of Aaragon died naturally, Anne lost her head

I think it was Henry's tennis partner with Buckinghams daughter

I'm more interested in Henry's elder brother Arthur, who died (HOW? still a few unanswered questions there). What would have happened if he and Katherine of Aragon had had a family - what would England be like today?

weboth watched it - it was AWFUL! not at all the same high standard as when the bbc did their famous wives of henry the eigth a long time ago and took one wifes sttory each week - this tv is just showing some actresses in very clean clothes with vosene washed hairstyles not like it wouldve been in those days when they doidnt wash only once a year (which is why brides first carried flowers to hide their pongs i the perfume!) - young henry was not convincing and dont think that theve done their historical research very well at all! must miss the rest of this sorry series!

ps
do you recall the old rhyme from school history lessons? I had to learn it, it went like this for henry six wives...
divorced, beheaded, died,
divorced, beheaded, survived!
pps wy those silly girls wanted to marry that monarch beats me, it wasnt at all sensible but in those times they didnt have the freedom females do today!!

Like that rhyme, who are the wives, in order, to link with the rhyme?

Katherine of Aaragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleeves, Katherine Howard & Katherine Parr

Henry was Katherine Parr's 3rd husband, after he died she married Thomas Seymour then died after giving birth to her first child at the age of 36, so she did survive, but not for long :(

I'm going to be pedantic and say it should be Annulled, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived - because technically Henry's first marriage to Katherine of Aragon was an annulment rather than a divorce, and as the OH has just pointed out, the marriage to Anne of Cleeves should also have been an annulment rather than a divorce as the marriage wasn't consumated, therefore it was never a marriage.
