I'm still umming and ahhing about a cat run...getting one this fall from Stu's Animal Housing!
Does anyone fancy posting piccies of their gorgeous cat runs so I can have some inspiration on what additions to have etc?? I love looking at catteries :tequilla:
There's some nice pics in the garden threads in 'the craft'.:swing:

But not all of them have catteries on.... I have looked on there :curlers:
I also tried the search button and couldn't locate very much, I thought this would be a nice thread to have and also when using the search button "cat runs" will come up straight away :woho:

Word of caution about Stu's - I have been waiting 8 weeks for mine, and he said 5. Took my deposit though! Cant get hold of him, despite sending lots of emails etc.....

I think you'll find quite a few of the garden ones have them on, plus there are lots of pictures on various threads.

Not too worry if no-one fancies it. Like I said I did a big search for cat runs and catteries and didn't find many thread so I thought a "cat run" thread would be easy to find and I thought it would be fun.... never mind

I rang him last year, I do like the look of one of his, but his email was down last time I spoke to him.Thats not good , if he said it would be done in 5 and 8 weeks later , you cant get hold off him.I did email him not to long ago, but ive not heard form him.

He made mine for me last year when we moved house.
Although he had major problems(his workshop burned down) he kept me up to date by phone.
Getting in touch with him by email was a waste of time.

Mine is a garden shed that I had lined etc, and my next door neighbour did the runs, it's been up nearly 10 years now and the runs have been changed and added to over the years.

I have just been searching on the web for cat runs I only have a small garden and just want a plain run to let the cats out for some fresh air a bit like the one Audrey has for her girls attached to the side of the house, don't need the indoor bits that some runs have.
I have just come across this web site (its a site for a ragdoll cat breeder) these panels look fab and just what I need!

The archive doesn't go back that far (not that i can access anyway) so most of the old pics you won't be able to find. Here are a couple of pics of mine, they were taken last year when it was built so please excuse the construction mess! i should really get some updated pics really cause it looks a bit different now, it had its second coat and there are plants and bits in there.

Coming in late on this thread..
Regarding Stuart and contact, he isnt very good with email.. always best to phone him.. which is all part of the Stus Animal Housing Experience..he can call you 'Babs' 400 times then!
I dont think he is dishonest at all, I think he is very busy and perhaps should stop being so specific about when the runs are ready!

Heres another - this is Grace, my Woodgreen cat. Saw her looking lonely in her pen and full of milk, having just been separated from her kittens. She was very skinny then, so skinny in fact I thought she was a half oriental and just had to have her- now she's fat as butter and looks and behaves like Garfield, with
one funny tooth that the vet said was fine!

Yes, that's the one - he's very good about windows where you want them and doors to your exact requirements - wish I'd had the safety door put in too now, though - I also had it made quite tall, lined and insulated and in the loglap wood, which is thicker and warmer and will last longer. It's been painted too!

If you get a run,my advice is to get the biggest your space and purse can possibley stretch to - you won't regret it.
Annas had her sleeping area made bigger than mine, but my mesh part is bigger than hers
Anna - what have you found to be the advantages of the bigger sleeping bit? I'd be interested to know as I'm considering getting another run the same for kits only
sailaice
06-06-2007, 10:32 AM
I think I will take your advice I do want very big runs.
I like The Lindsay by Bransby Bunny as a new stud house but the sleeping quarters seem quite small to me.... I've requested a catalogue anyhow so will get a quote from them
audrey
06-06-2007, 10:47 AM
Is it a run just to give your girls fresh air, or is it for them to live outside ?
sailaice
06-06-2007, 11:23 AM
The Lindsay is for a stud house not the girls
The 14 x 6 wedge from Stu's was to give the girls fresh air

Hello!:)
I thought our inside and outside bits were the same?
I like my inside bit the size it is, so there is room for a double cupboard to keep food, litter, bowls, trays etc
I also put mine out when its colder so they have a heater in there and rarely on cold days venture outside..
I think the outside bit I have is more than adequate for the amount of cats I will ever have in it...:)
