The NBA Cat Club stock it and you can pay by Paypal too. Have a look at www.nbacatclub.co.uk and look for the red Online Shop link. I usually try to get the book out in the post in a couple of days of receipt of payment. We do accept cheques to my address too.

Should have mentioned in this one - I was talking about the Betty Bloomfield Book! Slight senior moment there. LOL

You should put it in the Witches Wardrobe, it's a book that every breeder should have.

I popped into pet smart this week and got a book all about the basics of the siamese cat - some super photos and was only 4.99 and a few names I know are mentioned which was nice

This one is like a breeders handbook, you won't find anything like it in Pet smart or Pets at home.

We use lambs formula its absolutely great for kittens who dont suckle or if a queens milk dries up.It doesnt cause bloatiness or the dreaded switz and is easily dissolved.

I've never had any of those problems, and I doubt very much that Betty Bloomfield has either, and she's been feeding with Evaporated milk for many many years, her egg yolk mixture is brilliant too, also evporated milk is usually in everyones cupboard and easily available.

Here I come to put a cat amongst the pigeons!!!

I don't believe evaporated milk is a sensible thing to give to cats or kittens. I think Lambs milk formula is not a good idea either. If mum-cat milk is not available then, in my view, the best thing would be milk that is formulated for kittens. I realise that evaporated milk is easily available in an emergency but that would be the only time I would use it. I wouldn't use lambs formula at all since if I could go to the trouble of getting that, I could get kitten formula !

I gave it to my kittens on Monday evening with cooked white fish.. Charlie was sick all night, as was one of the adults who ate the bits they left... Red didnt look too clever afterwards either...:(

Thankyou Goldlay!
I have now ordrered the book. It says free postage but not sure they meant free postage to Norway:-) Oh well I suppose they will contact me if I have done something wrong. This sounds like a book every breeder should read.
I think here in Norway most breeder use the RC kitten milk with good results.

I was recommended to use KMR by an English breeder and when I needed milk substitute although I had bought Royal Canin Milk my vet recommeded KMR so I only used that. I had no problems with it and would highly recommended it.

I also found the Betty Bloomfield book very useful but now I have no further use for it. If anyone wants a copy they can have mine. My daughter assures me that she is not going into cat breeding in the future:smile: .

I think use what ever suits your cats, I'm oldfashioned and stick to the evaporated milk, I use a lot of it when weaning too, it works for me.

Hi Hilde

You must be my first overseas customer! I think we didn't really expect overseas people to order but I will waive the postage as you are the first to order it outside of the UK. Hopefully get it out to you on Monday.
